Study topics
In order to reach its objectives, the European Center for Ethnic Studies’ projects are centered on:
›› Elaborating an ethno-sociological atlas of Romania, starting from the rural local level, by using a complex set of indicators aiming at measuring the state of different ethnic communities and identifying potential tensions between them;
›› Measuring social distance between ethnic communities, at a local and regional level;
›› Elaborating studies on the impact of the European integration process on the preservation of national culture and identity;
›› Building partnerships with institutions that elaborate / implement ethno-social policies and significant NGO’s representing ethnic minorities;
›› Building an early alert system on interethnic tensions;
›› Projecting, on a strong theoretical and empirical base, social policies on ethnic issues;
›› Participating in and developing social programs in minority ethnic communities.
