- Introduction
The Center for the Study of Ethnic Issues (CESPE), a public research institution under the coordination of the Romanian Academy, respects the principle of gender equality in all its activities. Equal opportunities between women and men are considered an essential condition for the proper functioning of the team, for the credibility of the institution, and for compliance with Horizon Europe requirements.

- Situation Analysis
- In executive functions, leadership is ensured exclusively by men (2 persons), but the situation is ballanced by the departmental coordination position, where there is female representation (1 woman).
- In research activities, the distribution is relatively balanced: 4 women and 6 men.
- In financial and HR services, there is one man, with no female representation.
- In administrative and support services, there is female representation (1 woman).
- Conclusions
The data show that CESPE respects the principle of gender equality, with a balanced distribution in research activities and diverse representation in coordination and support roles. Existing imbalances (e.g., absence of women in executive functions and in financial services) are proportional to the small size of the center and do not indicate discrimination, but rather reflect the current structure of the staff.
- Reporting and Transparency
The situation regarding gender equality is evaluated annually and published on the CESPE website. This process guarantees compliance with Horizon Europe requirements and the maintenance of ethical standards in the institution’s activity. Through this approach, CESPE demonstrates that respect for gender equality is integrated into the organizational culture and the functioning of the center.
