The fifth National Congress of Romanian Historians took place in Bucharest on 9–12 September 2026 at the Faculty of History, University of Bucharest. The congress brought together 350 participants and featured 277 scholarly presentations and 19 roundtable discussions. Dr George Damian Mocanu represented the European Centre for Ethnic Studies with a presentation entitled “AI-Assisted Historical and Archival Research: Online Archives, Databases, File Formats, Access and Processing. Case Studies and Practical Aspects.”
