The European Centre for Ethnic Studies organized, together with the “Dimitrie Gusti” Institute of Sociology of the Romanian Academy and the “Acad. Andrei Rădulescu” Institute for Legal Research of the Romanian Academy, the conference “Doctrines of Romania’s Development,” on November 14, 2024, in the “Ion Heliade-Rădulescu” Amphitheater of the Library of the Romanian Academy. The event was held under the aegis of the events dedicated to “The Romanian National Project on the Horizon of the 21st Century: Reinterpretations and Reassessments at the Centennial of the Publication of Eugen Lovinescu’s History of Modern Civilization,” a project initiated by the Romanian Academy. The speakers included Dr. Ilie Bădescu, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy; Dr. Dragoș Paul Aligică, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy; Prof. Dr. Radu Baltasiu; Dr. Victor Rizescu; Dr. Gelu Sabău; Dr. Tudor Avrigeanu; Dr. Ovidiana Bulumac; Dr. George Damian Mocanu; Dr. Lucian Dumitrescu; and Dr. Cristi Pantelimon. On behalf of the European Center for Studies in Ethnic Issues, the following papers were presented: “The Analysis of Romania’s Development Doctrines,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Radu Baltasiu; “Exhortations for Interwar Youth: A Peasantist Perspective,” delivered by Dr. Ovidiana Bulumac; and “Lovinescu’s Theory of Synchronism Applied to the Case of Japan – A Reassessment,” delivered by Dr. George Damian Mocanu.
